Marley’s sponsored walk for Chelsea FC Foundation

Yasmin Bartlett is raising money for Chelsea FC Foundation

Sponsored walk · 24 August 2026

We harness the passion, energy, resources and excellence of Chelsea FC to create opportunities in our local areas. Delivering across our three pillars of wellbeing, community and futures, we recognise the challenges many face around our club’s footprint, and we’re determined to make a difference.

Story

Marley (aka Mini Palmer on socials) is taking on a huge challenge this summer to do a sponsored walk from Stamford Bridge to Craven Cottage! For those who don’t know, Marley was born with Spina Bifida and was never expected to walk… despite this, Marley has proven the doctors wrong and with the support of his splints and wheelchair he is able to get himself around, although long distances are a huge struggle, so this is a massive distance for him.

On the day of the first Chelsea game of the season, Marley will be walking the 1.6 miles from Chelsea’s stadium to Fulham’s, to raise money for the Chelsea FC Foundation.

After seeing his dad do a half marathon to raise money for another charity close to our family's heart earlier this year, Marley was so determined to take on his own fundraiser for a charity that means a lot to him.

Marley has been personally impacted by the efforts of the Chelsea FC foundation through their provision of weekly pan-disabled football sessions, where he is able to play the game he loves safely with peers who have a variety of disabilities like him, something he would otherwise be missing out on. In addition they have previously provided Marley the experience of meeting the men’s team, which was an absolute dream for him. The Chelsea Foundation “believe in the power of our club, our fans and our partners to bring people together, create healthier lives and shape brighter futures.” They have inspired Marley to give back to the charity so that they can continue to make a difference to young people’s lives in the local communities.

If you have anything at all spare to donate to Marley’s walk, he would be so very grateful! If not, please SHARE this page as far as you can to spread the word of Marley’s challenge! Thankyou so much for reading,

Yaz & Ollie (Marley’s parents) xx
