Story
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page. I am embarking on a personal trek to raise funds for PROSTATE CANCER UK, a cause close to my heart. On 17 April 2026, I will walk 60 miles of the Cape Wrath Trail, from Sheil Bridge to Ullapool over six days. This self-supported journey will take me through the remote and wild Scottish Highlands, carrying everything I need—food, tent, water, and coffee(!) —to complete this challenging adventure.
My motivation comes from a deeply personal place. Last year, my wonderful and much-loved brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He has been the unwavering rock of our family through many trials over the years. Since his diagnosis, he has received incredible treatment and kindness, but the shock of such news is profound for all of us. This trek is not just a physical challenge; it is a tribute to his strength and resilience.
The Cape Wrath Trail is considered one of the toughest routes in Scotland—unmarked and often very remote. I will be carrying essential gear, including midgie spray and a tick remover, with overnight stays planned in bothies and some wild camping along the way. While this journey will test me physically and mentally, it pales in comparison to what those facing cancer endure every day.
I am aiming to raise £1,000 to support PROSTATE CANCER UK’s vital work in research and patient support. Every penny donated will make a difference in helping families like mine face this disease with hope and strength.
Please consider supporting my trek by donating through JustGiving—it’s simple, fast, and completely secure. Your details are safe; JustGiving never sells information or sends unwanted emails. Donations go directly to the charity efficiently, saving time and costs so more can be done.
Thinking of my brother inspires every step I take on this trail. Together, we can make an impact against prostate cancer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity.
