Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On 26 September 2026, I’ll be joining 100 colleagues for a 100km trek through the Balkans. Over six days, we’ll be carrying our own equipment and leaving most everyday comforts behind, while raising funds and awareness for a range of mental health-related charities.
I originally wanted to raise funds for a Hungarian organisation, but unfortunately there wasn’t one available through our campaign page. So I chose Tourette Scotland, a cause I also have a personal connection to.
This summer, I went with my daughters to see Lewis Capaldi at Sziget Festival in Hungary.
Lewis has been very open about living with Tourette syndrome. At Glastonbury in 2023, his tics became so severe during his performance that he struggled to finish Someone You Loved, and the crowd sang it with him. Shortly afterwards, he stepped away from touring to focus on his health and learn how to manage the impact of Tourette’s.
Seeing him back on stage at Sziget with my daughters made us talk about Tourette’s and learn a bit more about it afterwards.
I first thought I’d share the Glastonbury video here, but decided to share his Sziget performance instead. It shows how great he is, and I’m always happy to promote Sziget too :)
So, 100km and six days in the Balkans ahead! If you’d like to support me and Tourette Action, any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you!
Marta
