This year I’m raising money for Age UK, a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.

Growing up, while my parents were busy having what can only be described as “different ideas” about life, my nan stepped in and did the hard work. She fed me, looked after me, taught me right from wrong, and somehow managed to survive my teenage years without putting me up for adoption. 😀

Like many grandparents, she gave her time, love, patience, and probably most of her biscuit tin to help raise me. The older I get, the more I realise how much she sacrificed and how many families rely on older relatives in exactly the same way.

That’s why supporting older people is so important. They spent years looking after us, sharing wisdom, telling us stories we’ve heard 500 times before, and pretending to understand how smartphones work. They deserve support, companionship, and dignity as they get older.

So I’m doing my bit to raise money for Age UK. Every donation helps support elderly people who may be struggling with loneliness, poverty, or simply need a helping hand.
