Story
I'm running the Paris Marathon 2026 for Dementia UK in memory of my wonderful Gran.
She sadly passed away at the end of August after a 2 year battle with dementia so I wanted to take on a challenge in her memory, whilst raising money for those who are still affected by it. Although I do think she would call me a crazy person for entering in the first place!
I have endless childhood memories with her, whether we were baking sweet treats or wrecking her living room just to build a den. She always welcomed our friends with the same love and encouragement. Her support and kindness turned each day into memories we will carry with us forever.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
