London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

I am running the London Marathon in April 2024 with my sister Flo for British Heart Foundation, and we would be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.

We are running in memory of Dad, who died of a heart attack in 2004, so by the time of the marathon, this will mark 20 years since he died.

This is also very special as it will mean that every Hershman (my maiden name!!) has run the London Marathon! Mum ran in 2005, also for British Heart Foundation, with Dad’s best friend Nick. Alice and Flo then ran in 2017, again for British Heart Foundation. My husband ran in 2018, for Asthma UK, Issy and husband Charlie ran in 2021; Issy for Heads Together and Charlie for Save the Children.

Finally, Flo and I will run next year, making me the last family member to finish off the family & extended family effort to run the London marathon for charity.

We would hugely appreciate your support in raising money for a fantastic charity and to help us honour and remember our amazing Dad.

Martha xx
