Story
On 24th May I will be running the Edinburgh marathon in memory of Max Davies and in aid of Mindstep Foundation.
Whilst I’m enjoying the looks of concern on the faces of friends and family, I’m genuinely terrified! All donations will be massively appreciated and will make a huge difference to this small charity.
On a personal note, it will mean so much to be able to show appreciation for and contribute to the amazing work my best friend (and Max's big sister) Georgia and the wonderful Davies family are doing.
Please read on to learn more about Mindstep and the work that any donations will support!
A note from Mindstep Foundation: We are incredibly grateful to our Mindstep Edinburgh Marathon Team! As a small charity, we rely on the dedication of our fundraisers and everyone who champions their efforts.
Mindstep was founded in 2019 following the tragic loss of our Max to suicide at just 22 years old. Our aim as his family is to do what we can to prevent others from experiencing the same heartbreak.
By supporting the team, you are helping Mindstep prevent suicide through funding vital research at the University of Glasgow, so that we can find out more about why people die by suicide and what we can do to prevent it. You’re also supporting the training of counsellors to provide subsidised therapy and the delivery of suicide prevention training to individuals and organisations.
Every donation makes a real difference and is deeply appreciated by all of us at Mindstep.
