Walking in my Shoes - Martin and Fiona's fundraiser for Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust

Martin and Fiona Hilton is raising money for ADCT - The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust

Taking on The Cleveland Way after last year's South West Coast Path

#TeamAorta - helping save lives by funding advances in aortic dissection patient care through research.

Story

2000 people per year lose their lives from aortic dissection in the UK.

The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust is the UK and Ireland charity uniting patients, families and the medical community in a shared goal of improving diagnosis, increasing survival and reducing disability due to aortic dissection.

We were lucky! Martin experienced an aortic dissection in March 2020 whilst out running, and without an observant consultant and incredible surgery would not be here today. Not everyone is as lucky as us.

Always active and looking for a challenge, Martin and Fiona walked the whole length of the South West Coast Path in 2024 - 630 miles long and the equivalent of climbing Everest nearly 4 times.

Now they are onto a new challenge - walking the Cleveland Way - in August 2025 .
