Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m running the London marathon and raising money for the charity Prost8 in loving memory of my Dad who fought, but sadly lost a valiant battle against the disease.
A bit about my Dad. Born in 1947 a loving husband to my Mum (Teresa) and Father to Kathrine and I. He was the wisest of men who was a gentlemen and a good guy - a person I miss terribly, but who is always there by my side whenever I’m out running. He battled prostate cancer until the bitter end surrounded by family. A keen gardener, sudoku player, brilliant squash player and someone who enjoyed all types of music, particularly brass band.
A bit about the charity. Prost8 campaigns for minimally invasive, curative treatments for early-stage prostate cancer, giving men hope and dignity without the life-altering side effects of traditional treatments.
Every step we take and every pound we raise will help:
1. Equip NHS hospitals with advanced HIFU and cryotherapy technology
2. Train specialist surgical teams
3. Fund awareness campaigns so more men are diagnosed early
A bit about me. I’m a proud Dad of two gorgeous girls and husband to a beautiful wife (Lisa, my rock and soul mate!) and I’m someone who tries their best and is willing to work hard for what they want. I turn 40 next year and keen to ensure my girls know that you can achieve anything you put your mind to and I would like to showcase some important life habits whilst out training and on race day, which l believe have served me well in life; discipline, grit, determination and heart.
