Story
I am running to support Dementia UK.
A very good friend of mine, was diagnosed with dementia last year at the age of 68. I’ve grown to realise how challenging it is for the person concerned and their loved ones, who have to deal with the consequences on a daily basis. There has been a lot of progress with research into this disease and hopefully with additional funding, there can be more research into this cruel life changing condition.
I would be very grateful for any support you can give.
Thank you.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
