Martin's 200 mile Ultra Marathon fundraiser for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust

Martin Dobson is raising money for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust

Hardmoors 200 Mile Ultra Marathon

The history of the Trust is unfortunately a tragic one. The charity was set up in memory of our dear colleague and friend – Nicole Waterhouse, who was sadly taken away from us following tragic circumstances. The Trust offers help for children affected by war, catastrophe or a natural disaster in UK

Story

This year, I’m preparing to take on my toughest challenge yet — running the Hardmoors 200 mile ultra marathon in one long weekend to raise money for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust.

At 8am on Friday 22nd May 2026, I will set off from Hull with one goal: to complete the 200-mile ultra marathon and reach the finish line in Helmsley by 8pm on Sunday evening. In just 60 hours, I will push my body and mind to the limit, running through day and night across some of Yorkshire’s most demanding trails.

The route will incorporate both the stunning but challenging Yorkshire Wolds Way and the breathtaking climbs of the Cleveland Way — covering hills, rugged coastal paths, open countryside and countless miles of unforgiving terrain.

This isn’t just about miles. It’s about making a difference.

Every step taken is in support of The Nikki Waterhouse Trust, a charity that provides vital support to families and individuals who need it most. When the miles feel endless and exhaustion sets in, it’s the cause — and the people it helps — that will keep me moving forward.

Two hundred miles.

Three days.

One powerful reason.

Anything you can donate would be hugely appreciated. Your support will not only help an incredible charity, but it will also carry me through every mile of this extraordinary challenge.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
