Thank you so much for looking at my fundraising page.

This year, Handelsbanken Dorchester branch have chosen Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance as our nominated charity. As Branch Manager, I wanted to undertake a personal challenge to raise funds for this most essential cause. The Air Ambulance is one of those services that you hope you'll never need but you're so glad they're there. They save so many lives each & every day all from funds raised by amazing donors like you.

So... what am I planning to do?? As many of you will know, I'm one of those "yeah... we can walk that" people. I've walked home from countless evenings out & I have a tendency to organise over-ambitious hikes when we're supposed to be enjoying a relaxing holiday! I'm taking it one step further with this fairly epic challenge... I'm going to walk home; from the Handelsbanken office in Poundbury, Dorchester to Twelveheads, Cornwall.

The trek is 237.5 miles (or 382.2km) & has a total ascent of 13,575m; more than 1.5x up Everest! And I reckon I can bosh that out in a week. I'm setting off from Poundbury on Thursday 1st May 2025 & (if all goes to plan!) will arrive home the following Thursday; that's a 30 mile per day average on the ups & downs of the South West Coast path.

Your help & support with this challenge is so greatly appreciated.. by me personally & by the amazing team at the Air Ambulance. I've set a really ambitious fundraising target, which came about when I learned that it costs c£3,500 for just one lifesaving mission for the Air Ambulance. I thought to myself.. "if I could raise enough money to fund just one mission, that's another potential life saved"

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides life-saving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need. They are a vital part of the community across Dorset and Somerset and they rely on your support.

I’m supporting DSAA as the service they provide is 95% funded by charitable giving; by people like you. Last year, they were tasked to 2,909 incidents, with each mission costing approximately £3,500.
