A day doesn’t go by when we don’t hear about people’s poor Mental Health. It is a real issue and the construction industry is especially affected where it’s not cool to reach out and ask for help - the suicide rate in construction remains the highest of all sectors in the UK.

Having worked in the construction industry for over 35 years, I am keen to break down the stigma regarding mental health and create a workplace culture where people feel comfortable to come forward and say “I’m not okay and I need help”

I have seen the impact that poor mental health can have on people very dear to me – it is heart-breaking to watch and at times you feel helpless. So I have to do something so why not do my third & “final” marathon – this time it’s Manchester on 14th April.

Your donation is helping Mates in Mind who are a leading, registered UK charity which enables organisations, of any size, to improve their workforces’ mental wellbeing. They do this by providing the skills, clarity and confidence to employers on how to raise awareness, improve understanding and address the stigma of mental ill-health.
