Martin's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Martin Grant is raising money for Stroke Association

Swim the Channel · 1 September 2025

Take on Swim for Stroke! Choose your distance and complete over one month at a time that suits you, all whilst raising vital funds to help stroke survivors find strength through support.

Story

Back in February this year I had a mini stroke, a TIA. Knocked the stuffing right out of me so it did. A few months down the line, and I'm back to full fitness - I'm one of the lucky ones.

To celebrate recovery, and raise awareness for The Stroke Association, I'm going to swim the English Channel. Not all in one go mind, that would be mental. Instead I'm going to jump into my local pool and swim the equivalent distance of 20.5 miles, or 1320 lengths of a 25m pool. Plan is to start September and have it all done by end of November.

If you can afford it, please consider donating and offering some words of encouragement.
