Martin House supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire. Our vision is that every child and young person has access to palliative care when and where they need it.

As most of you know at the end of 2022 we got the devastating news that my niece Elspeth was moving to Hospice for end of life care. The little fighter she is, she left hospice and she came home. The care and love provided by every single member of the team at Martin House contributed to her getting stronger. Whether it be the amazing meals (constant supply homemade biscuits), the activities and the pure relaxed environment. Martin House is a complete home from home and far from the sad place you would imagine it could be.

Everyone works so hard to make everyone who walks through their doors feel part of the family and make an incredibly difficult situation as comfortable as possible. Not only for not only the residents, but the families and carers.

I will be doing at least 2 cold water dips per week from 1st December 2023 until 28th February 2024 to raise money for this amazing cause.
