Equip is a small UK Christian charity which has been working in Rwanda since 2007 building Kingdom TVET School and sponsoring education in the southern outskirts of Kigali to train young people in vocational skills within a Christian context. In 2018 we became a registered INGO (International Non-Governmental Organisation) in Rwanda so that we could expand our work. Equip funds Nyamirama TVET School in the District of Bugesera, providing staff salaries, learning resources, administration and maintenance and refurbishment costs. Equip monitors the quality of the schools, giving educational consultancy and leadership and management support as required. Equip also funds several youth projects in Rwanda: Miracle Soccer Ministries, which runs a football academy in Kigali providing sporting opportunities for budding players alongside teaching them the gospel message; The Joy of a Child, a project in Kigali which provides food and educational support for orphaned and single parent families within a Christian context; Educators for Needy Children who are a group of young Christian teachers going into some of the poorest schools in the north of Rwanda providing uniform and educational and essential supplies for the neediest; and the young people of Ayabaraya, a newly built model village in the Kicukiro District of Kigali which houses some of the most vulnerable. During the COVID 19 crisis Equip funded food aid and support to communities in Rwanda.

Story

I will be running the Great South Run on Sunday 19th October 2025 to raise funds for Equip, a charity of which I have been a trustee since 2009.

Equip is a UK Christian registered charity and a Rwandan NGO which works to promote opportunity and excellence in Rwandan young people through youth activities, education, and healthcare provision, encouraging God-given potential and equipping them with skills to create and shape their own destiny and future.
