Hi everyone,
Myself, William, Kerris and Joanne are taking on The Ultimate Abseil at the Forth Rail Bridge on Sunday 4 October 2026 to raise money for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS).
In March 2022, I had a stroke that changed my life forever. I lost all my confidence and found myself at a very low point.
Six months later, I was referred to the CHSS Support Group in Gallowhill. The support I received was incredible. They helped rebuild my confidence, lifted my spirits and showed me that, despite everything that had happened, I could still achieve my goals.
Thanks to their encouragement and belief in me, I went on to become a CHSS volunteer. Today, I volunteer with two Communication Support Groups, the Aphasia Review Group, provide one-to-one support, and I'm proud to be the Walk Leader for the Paisley Group at Barshaw Park.
William, Kerris and Joanne have all said:
"Martin wouldn't be where he is today without the support he received from CHSS. Seeing the difference they've made to his life is why we wanted to take on this challenge and raise money so they can continue helping other stroke survivors."
One in five people in Scotland are affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions, or Long Covid. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help CHSS continue providing life-changing support to people and families who need it most.
If you are able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. Every pound really does make a difference.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
