Story
Hello everyone,
Following on from my recent post about my mental health, I wanted to share something a bit more positive (and slightly mad 😂).
For the last 3 weeks, I’ve been climbing Bennachie and other hills, and honestly it’s helped my mental health massively. Fresh air, hills, sore legs… apparently that’s the secret recipe.
So, going forward, I’m proud to say I’ll once again be the main sponsor for Let’s Kick It Together for another year.
Now, one of my pals challenged me to climb Bennachie every single day in June.
Most normal people would probably say:
“That sounds tough.”
Me?
“Aye… but what if I did it TWICE a day?” 😅
So from the 1st of June until the 30th of June, I’ll be climbing Bennachie 60 times — once at 6am and once at 6pm every day.
I’m 55, run 3 businesses, and clearly have forgotten what relaxing looks like.
Half of the money raised will go to Men United, and the other half will go to CLAN Cancer Support — a charity very close to me, as cancer has been part of my journey since I was 32. I also raised money for them 7 years ago during a bodybuilding challenge, although thankfully this challenge involves less fake tan.
If for any unforeseen reason I can’t complete the challenge, I’ll still be donating a substantial amount to both charities.
And finally — if anyone wants to join me during June, whether it’s for one climb or twenty, I’ll be at the Bennachie Centre every morning at 6am and every evening at 6pm.
Come for the walk, the chat, the support… or just to watch me question my life choices halfway up the hill 😂
All support, donations, and shares are hugely appreciated ❤️
