Martin's fundraiser for Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR)

Martin Nadin is raising money for Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR)

Breaking the Laws · 13 September 2026

SVR was established in 1910 to provide accommodation and support for ex-Service men and women of all ages who are homeless, isolated or in need. We have residences in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. We aim to help as many veterans as possible who are in need for as long as that need is there.

Story

In honour of the Scottish Commandos, I'm raising funds for Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR), by running the "Breaking The Laws 30K", which is organised by our friends at Blast Running. It's a 30 km (mostly) trail run that starts and finishes in North Berwick.

The Route!

First leg - North Berwick to East Linton

The route starts along the John Muir Way to East Linton.

2nd Leg - Traprain Law

From East Linton up to the summit of Traprain Law via the River Tyne and return to East Linton.

3rd Leg - The Final Push

Back to North Berwick and the second law to break - North Berwick Law!

A total of 640 metres of ascent

SVR is an organisation very close to my heart. It's Scotland's oldest military charity having been founded in 1910. It's very close to my heart; I've been its Chief Executive since 2018. SVR provides supported housing for former members of the UK Armed Forces and former Members of the Merchant Navy who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Operating across Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow, the charity helps individuals rebuild stability, independence and confidence, so that they can live as independently as they are able.
