After being diagnosed with Leukaemia / Blood Cancer 3 years ago I needed to start treatment in January and also needed several blood transfusions. It seems to be going well and my blood tests are more normal but have another 11 months of treatment ahead before i hope to go into remission. After not having run for nearly 35 years i tested my legs doing a 5k for cancer research and have now decided to run the Swansea 10k with two of my daughters Heidi and Rosie. We hope to raise awareness of Blood Cancer which is the 5th most common form of Cancer in the UK whilst also raising some much needed funds for Blood Cancer UK and its research and for the support it provides.

Blood Cancer UK is a community dedicated to beating blood cancer and they do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, they have invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, they are funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
