Story
In memory of Daphne Partington.
Daphne was diagnosed with aplastic anemia just over 2 months ago. It is a rare disease (1 case per 500,000 in the UK) but very severe for those with it. It results from the person's bone marrow function stopping, which in turns leaves the patient with a totally compromised immune system.
Treatments only work if the patient has no infection. In Daphne's case, she had an infection that could not be controlled. The Apastic Anemia Trust is the only charity working on this disease
