Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year in aid of Cancer Research UK in doing both the Abbott Yorkshire Three Peaks and Abbott National Three Peaks Challenge's.

Everyone has their own personal reasons for doing these challenges and raising money for charity. My personal motivation is that a family member has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer luckily at a very early stage so there is the opportunity to operate and remove the tumor before the cancer has a chance to spread. Whilst we are very lucky in this case, we know that for most people with this disease the prognosis is far far worse . Hopefully with everyone's support through donations Cancer research will be able to find new detection methods and treatments to help cure and prevent cancer.

The challenges themselves are detailed below:

The Yorkshire Three Peaks:

Climbing the three tallest mountains in the Yorkshire Dales:

Whernside 736m

Ingleborough 724m

Pen-y-Ghent 694m

An overall distance of almost 24 miles

and the National Three Peaks Challenge 2024

Involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales

Ben Nevis (Scotland): 1,344m

Scafell Pike (England): 978m

Snowdon (Wales): 1,085m

This will involve approximately 11 to 14 hours of mountain trekking over two grueling days.

Thanks everyone for reading this and if you can donate some money however small it will be very much appreciated. If you are not able to support financially thats fine you can support by sharing this page.

Thanks Again
