Ayrshire Hospice has been the sole provider of specialist palliative care across Ayrshire and Arran for over 35 years. Now we really need your help to ensure that we can keep delivering our services for future generations

Story

Unfortunately, most of us will know someone who has had to rely on the excellent service that The Ayrshire Hospice provides and of their excellence in palliative and end of life care for patients and their families. The Ayrshire Hospice is a charity and, like all hospices in Scotland, relies heavily on public support to operate. They need to raise millions of pounds every year from donations!

To put that in perspective, they often need to raise over £12,000 to £14,500 in voluntary funds every single day just to keep the hospice running.

Your donation will be contributing directly to meeting this vital daily and annual fundraising target, ensuring they can continue to provide their compassionate, specialist care to the people of Ayrshire and Arran when they need it most.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides support for people who are aged 16 years and over, who have a diagnosis that is life limiting - this includes respiratory and heart diseases, neurological conditions as well as cancers and other illnesses. Where necessary, they provide a seamless transition from young adult hospice services to our care. Their care seeks to improve quality of life in various ways, for example; giving support and advice on symptom control, providing emotional and spiritual care, social care and they also provide personal care when it is needed at the end of life.

They also have pharmacy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy specialist services as well as a much-valued complementary therapy and Respite and Response services. Care is provided in a number of places including NHS Ayrshire and Arran hospitals, care homes and people’s own homes as well as in our In-Patient Unit and Living Well Hubs.
