💙 Supporting Unique - Rare Chromosome Disorder Support Group 💙

As a family, we are taking part in the **Unique 3 Billion Steps Challenge**, where we will be completing an incredible **50,000 steps every single day from now until 25th June — Rare Chromosome Disorder Awareness Day** — to help raise funds for a charity that has meant the world to us for almost 15 years.

We might even get a few aunties, uncles… and who knows who else involved along the way 👣💙

Why are we doing this?

Our oldest daughter, Lucy, was born with an extremely rare chromosome disorder called **10q26 deletion & 2q trisomy**. Like many families receiving a rare diagnosis, we felt frightened, isolated and completely overwhelmed.

That’s when we found Unique - Rare Chromosome Disorder Support Group.

Unique is a small UK charity supporting families and individuals affected by rare chromosome and gene disorders. They provide invaluable emotional support, trusted medical information, family matching services and a community where no family feels alone.

Through Unique, we were introduced to other families around the world living with similar conditions — people who truly understood our journey. Over the years they have been our lifeline, offering reassurance, guidance and support during some of our hardest moments.

Because Unique is a smaller charity, every donation genuinely makes a difference and helps them continue supporting families like ours facing rare diagnoses every day.
