Story
I've never considered myself a "natural" runner. I’m not built for speed, and to be honest, I find every mile a bit of a battle. Yet somehow, I completed the London Marathon in 2007 and 2014. Unfortunately, shortly after that second marathon, my running journey hit a wall.
I suffered a significant injury that led to years of chronic back pain. For a long time, I thought my running days were firmly behind me. However, now, in my late 40s, I’ve managed to work my way back to fitness. Taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon this April is my way of proving to myself that those years of pain are behind me.
I will be running for the National Autistic Society: a cause close to my heart, both professionally and personally.
Alongside running my own training business, I lead education for a local autism charity (Autism Guernsey). I see firsthand the challenges that autistic people and their families face in navigating a world that isn't always designed for them. I am also autistic, so truly understand the importance of the right support and advocacy.
The National Autistic Society does vital work in transforming lives and changing attitudes. Every penny I raise will go toward ensuring that autistic people can live the lives they choose.
I’m aiming to raise £500. Whether it’s £5 or £50, your donation will help keep me motivated through the cold training runs and the 13.1 miles through London in April.
Thank you for your support 🩷
