Story
Martin sadly died 8th May 2026.
He expressed a wish for any donations to go to The Music Train which enhances the lives of people with multi sensory impairments , physical disabilities, autism, dementia to come together in a community setting to enjoy live music.
Martin and Liz have four children and eight grandchildren. Since retiring from Manchester University he has been a Carers Rep at the Carers Centre for over 10 years.
He also was a Shared Lives Carer with Liz to provide short breaks for adults with special need to live with them for 26 nights a year. They provided this support to help their son Stephen to prepare him for sharing his home with others.
Martin was a member of the local CAMRA group. (Campaign for Real Ale). He enjoyed being involved with trips around Bristol to decide which pubs go into the beer guide and organising Beer festivals.
Martin has supported his wife Liz with Music Train since she set it up in 2013. In 2023 they were nominated for Team of the Year at Milestones Trust Extra Mile Awards and came runners up.
Martin followed Bristol City Football Club for over 60 years. He was a season ticket holder for the last 20 years. (Picture taken May 25) The last game he saw was on the 21st March 2026.
Martin and Liz provide support for their son Stephen who is 40 this year.
