Story
This October I’ll be trekking to Everest Base Camp in memory of my late cousin, John-Paul White. The challenge will involve over two weeks of trekking at high altitude through the Himalayas, covering long daily distances in tough conditions. I’ll be taking on this journey alongside Gareth Carroll and John-Paul’s good friend Philip Brown, making it not just a personal challenge but a shared way of remembering him.
John-Paul was a devoted husband and proud dad to four daughters, always full of life and good humour.
He was generous by nature and cared deeply for his family, friends, and the people around him. Along with his wife, he also opened his home as a foster carer to children in need. This spirit of kindness is exactly why I know he would have supported the mission of Evora Hospice, a charity that provides specialist care for those living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for families.
Although John-Paul didn’t require their services himself, raising funds for Evora feels like a fitting way to honour his memory and help keep his spirit alive, while ensuring other families receive the care, compassion, and support they need during difficult times.
I’m fundraising as part of a JustGiving team with Gareth Carroll and Philip Brown, so our combined efforts can make an even bigger impact for Evora Hospice.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
