Story
Running for Artemis & Magic Breakfast
I work for Artemis, a hospitality business, and I’m taking on a series of runs – from 10Ks to marathons – to raise money for their chosen charity, Magic Breakfast. Magic Breakfast provide healthy breakfasts to children who need them most, helping them start the day ready to learn.
Supporting this charity is something that really reflects what Artemis stands for - looking after people and making a positive difference beyond our venues. Being able to represent Artemis through these challenges makes every mile feel even more worthwhile.
A bit about me…
I’m 55 and have worked in hospitality since 1986, starting as a trained butler and later running pubs for over 20 years. I’ve also been a football referee at Level 3 across the National League and Premier League U21s (now occasionally refereeing at Level 5).
I’ve been running since 2015, restarted in 2024, and have completed 8 marathons (London, Brighton, Geneva, Valencia), 50+ half marathons, and countless 10Ks and 5Ks.
This challenge is also personal.
In 2021, we lost both my dad and father-in-law within months of each other after long battles involving strokes, dementia and cancer. Like many families, we’ve seen how tough life can be – and how important support really is.
I’m running for my family – my wife Shelley, our three children, and two grandchildren – and to help give other children the best possible start in life.
Every mile matters. Every donation makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your support.
