Story
Homelessness is a crisis in the UK and in London, and overcoming homelessness often means more than a roof over your head. There will be complicated reasons for why people find themselves in a position of homelessness, and targeted support is needed to help people out of those circumstances. That’s why Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing meaningful work experience, training, tailored one-to-one support, as well as a stable home for as long as someone needs it. And it is why I have chosen to support, having heard about the amazing work that they do from persons who have benefitted first hand from their mission. It is truly incredible directly helping many people in need.
And to do this, I have committed to run my first half marathon at the Royal Parks in October!
Running is by no means a passion for me (it is in fact one of things I enjoy least in life), and taking on this challenge is one for myself, in addition to one where I can really help with Emmaus' work.
Training has begun, and it is hot work (though as the photo attests, long runs may end in the pub)!
Please do support by giving what you can.
