Mary has signed us up to run a half marathon… and I wish this was a joke.

I didn’t even know about it until the confirmation email landed in my inbox. Since then, it’s been a mix of confusion, regret, and the slow realisation that yes, 13.1 miles is very far.

For context, Mary is not a runner.

And I actively hate running.

So this is going to be… interesting.

But there is a serious reason we’re doing it.

We’re raising money for Dreams Come True, a UK charity that helps children living with serious illness, disability, or life-limiting conditions experience something truly special.

They focus on supporting children in the most disadvantaged areas of the country, helping turn incredibly tough circumstances into moments of real joy. Whether that is a specially adapted trike for a child with cerebral palsy or a tablet to help an autistic teenager develop their communication skills, each dream can have a lasting impact.

We wanted to support a smaller charity making a real difference.
