My story and loss don't matter what matters is trying to stop one person/one family experiencing the pain of suicide.

Legends on the Bench is an amazing idea. The charity, which was set up by ex-Spurs footballer Mickey Hazard after the suicide of his nephew, helps install Suicide Prevention benches in public parks across the UK, each featuring a QR code that can be easily scanned with a smartphone. This QR code and printed details on the bench will direct users to professional support groups, website links, and email addresses that are open 24 hours a day.

This is in the hope that somebody facing mental health struggles may just see it in time

Your donation will help the first of these benches in Gloucester and I hope inspire others to raise the money for more.

I already have the support in principle from the local council to having this erected near The Phoenix Café in Abbeydale.

My reason for choosing here is as after the suicide of my partner Paul the Walking football group who meet there have been an amazing support to me and my son. Without their support and that of Deer Park Archers and good friends/family I may well have been another statistic. Not everyone is lucky enough to have that support.

I know that lots of people walk through the area by Phoenix café and we have no idea how many of these may be struggling. I certainly had no idea of the turmoil Paul was in.

I don't want the bench just to have Paul's name on but to contain the forename of anyone you have lost to suicide or who you know is struggling, hopefully this way more people will relate to the issue when sitting on the bench. So please message me with any name you would like on the bench.
