Story

Thank you so much for supporting my fundraising.

I am running in memory of my amazing mother in law Jenny. Jenny tragically lost her battle with cancer very quickly in 2022 after diagnosis in 2021. The photo above was taken when we were allowed to make a ‘bubble’ during the covid lockdowns before her illness was discovered.

Without Macmillan in the last few months it certainly would have been an even bleaker place. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got and they certainly gave us dedication, care and sensitivity in the latter stages of Jenny’s life.

Quite how someone whose love of life was always infectious can be taken by this cruel cruel disease is beyond me but sadly it’s a reality for a great deal of people and the support of Macmillan is invaluable.

I am also running as part of Sedbergh Schools 500th anniversary. Daddy attended Sedbergh School in the 1940’s and always always talked so fondly about his time there.

Sedbergh was always one of his favourite topics of conversation and when Georgia and Guy started there he always wanted to know every detail of their daily life at school.

We sadly said goodbye to my incredible Daddy in 2022 (just a year after Mummy and just months before Jenny) … quite a time it was looking back! I would like to think they are all up there together watching down cheering me on.

My big brother, Nial is also running the marathon for NSPCC, running the marathon is a dream come true for me, but to be able to run it with my brother well that just tops it all!
