Wheelchair push · 1 June 2024

Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club formed almost 10 years ago, based in Hull, affiliated with The WFA & East Riding FA. We are a registered charity with the aim of giving disabled people who use a wheelchair the chance to play powerchair football at either a social or competitive level.

Story

On Saturday 1st June, 2024 George Coulbeck and some of his team mates will attempt to push themselves in their manual wheelchairs across the length of the Humber Bridge. This will be starting from one end to the other equivalent of 1.38 miles. George and his team mates will be raising funds for Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club. He kindly asks for any sponsors to hep him raise vital funds for the Hull charity.

" I have made a lot of great friends and I absolutely love wearing the club badge and playing for the team. I just love it."

" With George needing a wheelchair to move around in, this was always difficult, until around eight years ago when George went for a tester session with HEYPFC and absolutely loved it! Ever since that day, he has been a proud member of the club and thoroughly enjoys playing power chair football. Due to having nothing like this support in our community, we travel from Immingham to training and matches. The club is nothing short of amazing and to say that it is a family orientated club is an understatement. They have supported George not just on the field but off it as well when we have sadly experienced some tragic life events. This friendship and support was simply above and beyond and is something that I will be forever grateful for
