Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In February I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with Elise, my lovely daughter. At 19,341ft, Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world and the highest in Africa. I have wanted to do it for some years and now it is actually happening…! Whilst I am pretty confident I can do it physically, it is the altitude that worries me, fingers crossed!
As we will be in Africa, I’d like to raise money for a small charity which raises money for children in Nairobi, Kenya. I know that all the money raised goes to the projects they fund for. I have chosen the project listed below. If you are able to help, I would be so grateful.
Safe House
£50 per month supports a girl in our Safe House. We now have 11 girls in the Safe House who have been rescued from extremely dangerous / abusive family situations (child marriage, physical & sexual abuse etc). They live like a family, we provide everything – food, water, clothing, school supplies, books, toys, toiletries, medical care etc as well as the lady who looks after them. Having been scared, withdrawn children they are all now flourishing, happy girls. We also have some emergency cases who we have to look after on a temporary basis.
