PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.

So why am I doing this, as a very young person I wasn't in a great place and struggled with thoughts of suicide, as well as a couple attempts, because I didn't feel like I fitted in anywhere and honestly never thought I'd make it to 35.

I wasn't the only one who felt like that back then, I lost a few friends to suicide over the years and more recently, these may have been prevented had they of known of charities / organisations like PAPRUS.

My kids gave me the strength and the determination to want to get through the tough times and want to live and get the help I needed and enjoy the life I have now,

I'm glad to say I am in a good place and have great mental health, not something I thought I would of ever said in my younger self.
