Story
St Leonard's Hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families across York and the surrounding area. Their care is free to those who need it but it is not free to provide.
The Hospice has provided care for several friends, one who needed support as she went through radical cancer treatment, which she found really welcome at that traumatic time.
Another friend and her family was given excellent end-of-life care. Staff were sensitive and supportive and provided vital medical care and information.
By taking part in Step Into Spring this March, I'm helping to ensure they can continue to provide this vital service at the Hospice, in people's homes, and in the community.
I have been dealing with difficult health issues for several years, and my energy levels can sometimes be very low. So getting myself out to exercise regularly can be challenging. However, I'm certain that by committing to this Fundraising event, I will find the energy needed to do the walks everyday.
Every penny makes a difference and I'd really appreciate any support you feel able to give to help motivate me as I walk 10,000 steps every day in March.
Thank you so much..
Mary Greene
