Bath Half 2025 · 16 March 2025 ·

40tude is an innovative charity tackling colon (bowel) cancer, the biggest cancer killer of non-smokers in the UK. However if it's detected early, through regular testing, it can be easy to treat. Early diagnosis can save lives. See our website for more about the symptoms and testing options.

Story

I am raising money for both Parkinson’s and 40tude.

I signed up to the Bath Half last September - I haven’t done one since the Great North Run in 2000. I’d slightly forgotten that I don’t massively enjoy running and the training takes way more time than I actually have… and I’m also fully aware that many people undertake far more impressive challenges than this one.

However, these charities are particularly important to me so I wanted to take the opportunity to raise a few pounds for them. If you can, please give generously to either charity (or both) and if you can’t (or want to save your pennies for somebody more deserving), that’s totally fine too but the one thing I would ask is for you to look at the 40tude website. It could be a lifesaver.

Parkinson’s = for my dad, who would be running with me if his body allowed it.

40tude = for too many friends.

Thank you xx

40tude is working to raise awareness of the importance of getting screened regularly for colon (bowel) cancer, currently the UK's biggest cancer killer of non-smokers. Early diagnosis can and does save lives.

Your donation will be directed very carefully also to specific, leading-edge research already making a difference to transforming the early diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer. Together we can reduce the number of people seriously affected by this disease.
