Story
Mary-Jane Lomer was an incredible daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension in 2002.
Pulmonary hypertension is rare, serious and misunderstood. It has a huge impact on people’s lives, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA UK) is dedicated to reducing that burden through support, advice, information and advocacy.
Despite Mary-Jane's illness, she never let pulmonary hypertension rule her life and always wanted to help others and was 'more than enthusiastic' about enjoying every day. Before she was diagnosed Mary-Jane led a very interesting and busy life, she grew up in Iraq, developed and ran a Nursery School, then owned and ran a very popular Coffee Shop. She was an incredible artist throughout her life and during her later years designed and produced tea towels sold locally with proceeds going to PHA UK.
PHA UK raise awareness and fund research to provide better treatments, with the hope of one day finding a cure for this devastating disease.
The PHA UK receives no government funding, so every penny donated plays a vital role in helping them support people to live better lives with pulmonary hypertension.
