I’m currently gearing up for another bash at the Great North Run in support of the BEEP Doctors and with 12 weeks of training left to look forward to, the aim is to squeeze in a PB run while raising awareness and cash for a much more important cause.

This year has been a bit of a slog and with a couple of injuries thrown into the mix, the aim is to train consistently smart and to work on my weaknesses with a fresh mindset, become a better runner and see if I can knock a few minutes off last years time which was a smidges under 2 hours.

The BEEP Doctors charity and the lifesaving work they provide inspires my fundraising efforts and helps to keep things focused and in perspective.

As a Physiotherapist, I talk to people everyday about navigating life’s challenges and building resilience. I often advise people that progress isn’t always linear, and setbacks are part of the journey. Maybe it’s time to remind myself of that too.
