Story
Great North Run training is well and truly underway to raise funds for The BEEP Fund Volunteer Doctors who provide pre-hospital specialist medical care in life threatening emergencies across Cumbria.
For me, charity starts at home, and as a Cumbrian lass and health care professional, I’ve chosen to fundraise for the BEEP Doctors who selflessly give up their spare time to help save lives and support the people of Cumbria.
Chances are, if there’s a serious life threatening incident in Cumbria, one or more of the volunteer BEEP Doctors will be in attendance on their day off whilst most of us chill out, catch up on our own lives, and read about it in the news. Big respect ✊
For those of you who know me, it’s pretty obvious long distance running is definitely not my natural sporting forte. So, I’ve been consistently logging the miles with my trusty sidekick Pippa, building a new engine, getting mentally strong and confidence is building.
I’m sticking my neck out and aiming for a PB sub 2 hour race whilst trying not to become a casualty myself!! So if you’ve got a spare quid or two, please support this amazing local charity. If not, give us a shout and a wave if you see me out training!
16 weeks until race day.
Cheers all.
