VISION 50 – How Many Times Can We Get Round Bury?

I’m proud to work for Bury Blind Society, a small, independent local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people across Bury and the surrounding areas.

This October, I’ll be taking part in VISION 50 – an exciting week-long fundraising challenge with one simple goal:

50 miles a day. 6 towns. 1 community.

From Monday 5th to Friday 9th October, clients, volunteers, staff, families, friends and members of our local community will be taking turns on a static exercise bike, working together to clock up 50 miles every day – the approximate distance it would take to cycle around the six towns of the Borough of Bury: Bury, Prestwich, Whitefield, Radcliffe, Ramsbottom and Tottington.

And there’s a particularly special day in the middle of it all…

Thursday 8th October is World Sight Day, giving us the perfect opportunity to shine a light on sight loss, raise awareness and show just how much can be achieved when a community comes together.

But VISION 50 is about so much more than cycling miles.

Every mile represents the support, friendship, advice, practical help and opportunities that Bury Blind Society provides to people living with sight loss. The Society works hard to promote wellbeing, confidence and independence, and relies heavily on donations and fundraising to continue this work.

I see first-hand the difference the Society makes, and that’s why I’m asking you to help me make every mile count.

Whether you can donate £5, £10 or whatever you can afford, your support will help us continue providing vital services to local people living with sight loss.
