For almost 90 years, the Friends of The Royal Marsden, Chelsea has been supporting the work of the hospital in its treatment and care of patients and families affected by cancer by providing funds for the purchase of equipment, services and amenities for the benefit of patients, their carers and staff. They also provide hands on voluntary support with almost 150 volunteers who annually, contribute around 20,000 hours of their time in various areas of the hospital. In 2019 the Friends was awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to any voluntary group in the UK.

Story

In memory of our beloved Maryam, a remarkable soul who gracefully embraced life until her peaceful departure after a courageous battle with cancer on 27th of February 2024, we are requesting your kind support for the The Friends of The Royal Marsden, Chelsea. These incredible volunteers were like angels in Maryam's final few weeks on earth, lovingly providing support and care for her every need. We are extremely grateful to them.

Our beloved Maryam was a devoted advocate for spirituality, she found solace in exploring diverse spiritual paths, radiating positivity and inner strength. A humanitarian at heart, her life's purpose was to help those in need. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire.
