Story

Hi,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Here is a bit about me, my challenge and the charity I am supporting.

My name is Mathew (Mat). I am 17 years old and I am taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft)!

In taking on this challenge, I would like to raise money for a charity which is close to my heart for whom I have had the privilege of helping out at many events. Harry is a superstar and makes my day when he comes along to support me at my rugby matches, thank you!

Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's HAT) was founded in 2018, the charity is user-led. The aim of the charity is to make life better for children with hydrocephalus and their families.

Every year 1 in 770 babies will develop hydrocephalus, there is no cure and it is currently the most common reason for brain surgery in children. The charity exists to raise awareness, promote training and so improve patient care, support families to reduce isolation and to campaign for better awareness of infant head circumference measurement.
