Story
Having lived in the borough of Ealing, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that mental health struggles can have on individuals, families, and the wider community. When I first learned about the work CAPE does, it really resonated with me. I felt proud that Ealing has a charity dedicated to supporting people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
Like many people, I’ve experienced challenges with my own mental health. During those times, fitness became a powerful tool that helped me rebuild my wellbeing. Taking on a marathon now feels like the perfect way to combine something that helped me personally with raising awareness and support for mental health.
I’ve also watched family members battle with their mental health, and it’s something that still isn’t spoken about enough - especially among men.
The reality is stark. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK. In London, men account for around 73% of suicides, highlighting the urgent need for more support and open conversations.
If you’re able to donate anything at all, it would mean a huge amount. Every contribution helps CAPE continue providing life-changing support to people struggling with their mental health.
Thank you so much for your support!
