Story
Matilda has previously raised money for animal charities. This year's chosen charity is Pets As Therapy.
For this year's charity drive, Matilda will be joined by her younger brother, Thom.
In addition to fundraising, the pair are hoping to secure a Therapy Dog for their school - St John the Baptist Primary School in Penistone. A Therapy Dog at the school will strongly benefit all children but most especially those with additional SEND and social/emotional needs.
Last year, Matilda summited England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. This year, alongside her brother, she takes on Wales' highest peak... Mount Snowdon!
Pets As Therapy is a national charity founded in 1983 by Lesley Scott-Ordish. Now like then, Pets As Therapy helps those in our communities most in need of animal companion therapy. Visiting volunteer teams and their behaviourally assessed PAT Dogs or Cats share the love of their own animal with people in hospitals, care homes, schools, prisons, day care centres and so many more establishments. The clients they visit benefit from the wonderful effect a companion animal brings, namely non-judgemental listening, tactile comfort & affection
