Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Matt will be running the Porthcawl 10k on Sunday 6th July to raise money for the CJD Support Network.

Our family lost a wonderful wife, mother, Dee, sister, daughter, auntie and friend in Darlene, to the extremely rare and little known disease called Sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (sCJD) in May 2024.

Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) is an extremely rapid neurological brain disease, which is always fatal; there is no treatment nor cure. It has no known cause or trigger and occurs randomly affecting only 1-2 people in every million each year in the UK. It can happen to ANYONE at ANYTIME. Every day we ask, why Darlene?
