Two boys of the barricade in the West End's 'Les Miserables' attempt their very first Triathlon in aid of Cancer Research UK!
Matt here.
Unfortunately, cancer is a disease that affects so many of us. My amazing Mum was diagnosed with cancer three times in her lifetime. I witnessed her beat it on two separate occasions growing up, before she passed away in 2018 from metastatic breast cancer. Her strength, grace and determination will never leave me. Her remarkable courage is her great legacy to me and my family. So, for me, this triathlon is for her.
Recently, while running together, Ben told me about the devastating effects that cancer had on his beloved family friend, Dave, and the grief it caused them all. It was then that we decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK to help as many of those as possible who come face to face with cancer, and those it affects.
Over the last 40 years in the UK, cancer survival rate has doubled thanks to organisations like Cancer Research UK. We are more than happy to be of any help we can to contribute towards such inspiring statistics like this one. Our hearts go out to all those reading this who have had to battle with cancer in one way or another. Let's beat cancer together. Any donations are hugely appreciated and gratefully received.
Many thanks and all the love - Matt and Ben x
