In May 2027, we'll take on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Diabetes UK.

This cause is deeply personal to both of us and important to millions around the world.

Matt: "I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in December 2018, and 2027 marks my ninth year of living with this lifelong condition. Throughout this journey, I've experienced firsthand the challenges of balancing diabetes with everyday life, exercise and endurance sport, but also the incredible difference that access to modern technology, treatment and specialist care can make."

Ellie: "Through supporting Matt, I've seen firsthand the daily challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes and the impact it can have on everyday life. However, diabetes has also become personal to me in another way. For the past four years, I've been managing numerous health conditions – a common potential complication of which is the development of insulin resistance. Managing these conditions through medication, regular health checks and changes to my diet and exercise habits has become an important part of my life. Despite these efforts, I have been warned that I still face a significantly increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes in the future."

We're running not just to raise awareness, but to help create a future where everyone living with diabetes has access to the care, education, technology and support they deserve.

Every donation will help Diabetes UK continue its vital work to advance research, improve treatment, and support people living with diabetes, with the ultimate hope of finding a cure.

Our goal is simple: to help ensure that diabetes never limits someone's opportunity to live a healthy, active and fulfilling life.
