Story
I’m running the Hackney Half Marathon in May, motivated by two main things.
Firstly, I’m raising money for Crisis, a charity working to end homelessness in the UK. Homelessness is something most of us have seen first hand but it shouldn’t exist at all, everyone should have a safe place to call home. Crisis does vital work supporting people out of homelessness and campaigning for long-term solutions.
Secondly, this is a very personal challenge. In November, I had surgery to have my spleen and a massive cyst removed. Recovery has been tough, both physically and mentally, but I’m now getting back to a place where life feels almost normal again. Running this half marathon is part of rebuilding my fitness and confidence. I’ve also never run a half marathon before, so this really is new territory for me.
Anything you’re able to donate will make a huge difference, both to the work Crisis does and to my motivation to get to that start line (and hopefully the finish).
Thank you for your support ❤️
