Story

In April 2025, Rory’s Grandma, Cathy, sadly passed away after her illness with cancer.
She spent her final weeks under the care of The Christie, and I know from Rory’s mum and her family how much compassion and kindness The Christie showed to Cathy and to all of them during that time.
So this April I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon in her memory, and to raise money for the people who helped care for her. I was basically a useless runner a few months ago, so this is a very real challenge for me,
but that feels exactly the right way to honour her.
Cathy was a huge part of Rory’s life and supported him in so many ways. She was always incredibly kind to me whenever we saw each other, and I’ll always remember the role she played in helping Rory grow into such a loving, thoughtful boy. Her kindness really is missed.
I’m aiming to raise £1,500, and even £5 genuinely helps The Christie care for other families facing cancer.
Thank you ❤️
